Mark 15:5 But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate was amazed.
In response to the accusations of the chief priests and elders, Jesus said nothing. What astonishing self-control. He didn't attempt to defend Himself, perhaps as the only way to do so would be to attack them, and so fulfilled Isaiah's prophecy that:
Isaiah 53:7 like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.
Can we emulate that behaviour when we are attacked? Do we keep silent in the face of lies and misinformation, perhaps to our own cost, rather than attack the integrity and character of others?
