Luke 1:74

Luke 1:74 ... that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear

God saves us and rescues us for a purpose. That purpose is that we should serve Him without fear. Without fear of being squashed by the enemy? Absolutely, yes. But also without fear - that is, being afraid - of God Himself. We serve Him because of His goodness to us, in gratitude, not in order to win His approval. Delivering us from our enemies frees us (or enables us) to serve Him wihout fear. While we will always be in awe of God - by definition, because He is God and we, however much loved, are created beings - He does not want us to be afraid of Him.

Comment -

How wonderful this verse is! And yet so many have not realised the freedom that this brings. Christians, still living in fear not aware or living in their freedom. Praise His name.

Thank you for your encouragement, may the Lord encourage and bless you!
