Jeremiah 33:12-13

Jeremiah 33:12-13 Thus says the LORD of hosts: In this place that is waste, without man or beast, and in all of its cities, there shall again be habitations of shepherds resting their flocks. In the cities of the hill country, in the cities of the Shephelah, and in the cities of the Negeb, in the land of Benjamin, the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, flocks shall again pass under the hands of the one who counts them, says the LORD.

In a second vingette of rural peace and prosperity, God makes a second promise of restoration. Again, in the face of desolation and destruction, God will restore the prosperity and livelihood of His people. Notice that work will still be going on; farming will continue. This is not a holiday camp! But the sensible means of making a living will be restored in the outlying areas that the people in the besieged city hadn't seen in perhaps years. God is in the restoration business and He will make all things good.
