Jeremiah 36:3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the disaster that I intend to do to them, so that every one may turn from his evil way, and that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
Even at this late stage, when Jerusalem is close to being overrun and the Land is being laid waste by the Babylonians, God's heart is that the people should yet turn to Him. His forgiveness is contingent on that act of confession and repentance, but He hopes every day that the people will turn.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Peter hears the same message and it's a word that people today need to hear. God doesn't want to lose anyone, but anyone. He wants everyone to turn from their own ways and follow Him.
