Luke 9:37

Luke 9:37 On the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great crowd met him.

This on the day after the Transfiguration, the momentous epiphany when Peter, James and John had seen Jesus revealed in His glory, talking with Moses and Elijah. From a mountain peak, straight back into the humdrum of daily ministry and concerns! A large crowd of people were looking for Jesus, waiting to see Him, wanting to know what He had been doing and, naturally, needing healing and ministry.

We should expect no less: that each day, every day, people will want to know about Jesus; that people will be seeking the kingdom of God. What? This doesn't happen in your life? Then perhaps you haven't been up the mountain and received a revelation of exactly who Jesus is. This is what the kingdom of God looked like for Jesus and the first disciples and, since God doesn't change, we need to ask ourselves what we have got wrong if it isn't looking like that for us today.
