Luke 10:2 And Jesus said to the seventy two, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."
Can we appropriate this for today and, if so, what does it look like for us? Is the harvest still plentiful - are people ready and open to hear about the kingdom of God? How many workers are there? Are they working or labouring? Is this a request for God to send out workers (someone else), to send out us (to work, to continue working, to start working) or what? And what is the harvest - is it the world in general, the place where we are now or somewhere else? For there to be a harvest, has someone else already needed to plough, sow and cultivate the crop?
