Isaiah 1:15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood. Have things yet reached this stage? Has too much blood been shed and have the nations waited too long? Has God totally withdrawn so that no prayer will be answered? The ancient rabbis teach that even in the worst possible situations, one prayer is always guaranteed to be heard and answered: a prayer of true repentance. This prayer will always pierce the heavens and reach the ear and heart of God. Let us soften our hearts and cry out to God, let us repent for our own sins, for the sins of our people and the sins of the world. Let us cry out for mercy and plead the blood of Jesus, shed on the cross.
