Isaiah 2:2 It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it ...
We look to a time when this prophecy, in whatever exact way it is to happen, does happen. In those days, the days when Messiah rules the world from Jerusalem, the mountain of the house of the Lord - the physical mountain where Jerusalem is sited - will be higher and more elevated than all those around it. Does this mean that Mt. Zion will suddenly be higher than Mt. Everest? No, becasue Mt. Everest is not surrounding Mt. Zion. It also speaks of holiness and importance: Mt. Zion will be universally acknowledged as holy, because that is where Messiah is, and all the nations will flow towards it.
