Luke 12:2-3

Luke 12:2-3 Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.

This is a sobering thought! But surely, it doesn't include all those little "in confidence" conversations about others for ministry purposes? You know, those moments when you are trying to help someone by explaining something to someone else so that they don't say or do anything. Or when you are sharing something so that people know how to pray. Welcome to the world of full, open and transparent disclosure. Everything said or whispered off-stage or sotto voce will be make public. How will we feel?

Sometimes it is necessary to have thing said in confidence, but we should always be as positive, as kind and as loving as possible, bearing in mind that - one day - the conversation will be in the public domain. Better to try and avoid saying anything behind someone's back that you wouldn't say in front of them.
