Isaiah 11:4 ... but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. Righteousness is a key leitwort in Isaiah; it occurs time and again. It is one of the signal characateristics by which God's actions can be recognised: unlike the works of men, Messiah's works will all be righteous in the same way that God Himself is righteous. From Messiah's mouth will come just judgement, righteous indignation at human disobedience and an end for wickedness and those who perpetrate it in this world.
