Luke 13:20-21

Luke 13:20-21 And again Jesus said, "To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? It is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened."

What happens after the leaven is hidden in the flour? At a human level, nothing. No-one does anything. But the leaven grows; it produces as by-products of its growth everything needed for the next genertion: warmth, water and a slightly acidic environment. Will the fermentation fail to reach any of the flour? Not given enough time. What if it was thirty measure of flour? Same answer, given enough time.

Here is a very short parable, but very powerful. God has hidden His word in His world and in His people. It is spreading and nothing can stop its advance - the kingdom will be proclaimed everywhere eventually. God's purposes will be accomplished; the kingdom cannot be thwarted or denied.
