Isaiah 16:5

Isaiah 16:5 ... a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David one who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness.

Part of a lament over Moab, these words struck me as an amazing symbol of what will happen in the days to come. God will establish a throne - by which I think we should understand a rule or government of authority - because of His steafast love for His people and the world that He created. The king who will sit on that throne - read: lead and set policy for that government - will be from the house of David. He will have both power and authority to judge - that is, render binding decisions without the need for appeal - and will not only seek justice but will do, for Himself and for everyone else, righteousness. The world will be a better place! May this come soon and in our days.
