Luke 15:25

Luke 15:25 Now his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.

This verse comes from towards the end of the Parable of the Prodigal Son. The errant younger son has come to his senses and returned home; his father has welcomed him and thrown a party. But the older son, who always remained at home and never strayed comes home to hear the party and is puzzled. What can the noise be?

Are you blind-sided sometimes by what God does? We all are. We all hear music and dancing (often when we are trying to get some sleep) and wonder what is going on. We need to learn to keep our ears more open to the Spirit so that we can rejoice in what God is doing and be up to speed with the kingdom progress. Look around you today and see if you can see where God is at work and holding a party - it might be right under your nose!
