Isaiah 30:18

Isaiah 30:18 Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore He exalts Himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.

We need to read this verse several times over. It contains good words, good promises, that we need to be sure that we have heard and understood.

God, our God, is waiting to be gracious to us. He is looking for an opportunity to show mercy to us, to do justice for us and to bless us with His presence and kingship. Did you know that? Are your ideas about God that He is all about judgement and punishment, that - far from waiting to be gracious - He is just waiting for us to step out of line so that He can zap us? Then think again; hear today's text and receive a fresh revelation of who God is!
