Isaiah 30:23-26

Isaiah 30:23-26 And He will give rain for the seed with which you sow the ground, and bread, the produce of the ground, which will be rich and plenteous. In that day your livestock will graze in large pastures, and the oxen and the donkeys that work the ground will eat seasoned fodder, which has been winnowed with shovel and fork. And on every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be brooks running with water, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day when the LORD binds up the brokenness of His people, and heals the wounds inflicted by His blow.

This longer text finishes up the promises we have been considering over the last few days. These verses talk of a much larger transformation that just one life; this is a change that will affect the whole world. God is going to radically change the way creation itself works, reversing the curse of thorns and thistles spoken when Adam, the first man, disobeyed God and allowed sin into the world. When the towers fall, the gates of Hades of which Jesus spoke, then death wil be destroyed, the enemy will be vanquished and creation will joyfully be able to fulfill its original mandate.

Are you looking forward to that? I know that I am. Be sure that you don't let the present difficulties and darkness rob you of your hope for and expectations of the future. These are the words of God; they are what He is going to do. Really. Be encouraged to hold on and persevere, listening for the voice behind you and knowing that God is already right here in this world, helping you in more ways than you know. And if He can do that, then the future is already certain!
