Isaiah 31:1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the LORD!
What can we make of this text for today? Who might 'Egypt' be in our times and to what could 'horses' and 'chariots' refer? One thing is for sure: the world is looking everywhere but at the Holy One of Israel. No-one is consulting Him!
How could we reverse this trend? As believers, we do look to our God, we "lift up our eyes to the hills" (Psalm 121:1) and know exactly where our help comes from: The Holy One of Israel. Can you think of a way to share that meaningfully today?
