Luke 17:22

Luke 17:22 And Jesus said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.

Are you longing to see the days of the Son of Man? Many folk are currently wondering if they might be seeing them right now. But differences about eschatological timings (or events) have plagued the Body of Messiah for years; many successive generations have thought that they were living in the last days, only for thenext generation to discover with hindsight that they were not.

But allow me to let you in on a little secret: we are most definitely living in the days of the Son of Man. How can I say that? Because it is true! As Jesus is alive and reigning at the right hand of God the Father, every day is one of His days. He is available to help us every day, to be with us through trials and tribulation, to hear us when we cry out to Him.

Why doesn't it look like it? Because we are not living like it; we fail to actualise His presence and power each day. We don't really take Him at His word and involve Him in everything we do - our eyes are not really open to see the kingdom advancing and to allow Jesus to work through us in real time. We make much of saying that we are His hands and His feet, but then don't actually do anything.

Today is a day for waking up, for smelling the coffee and for acting as though the kingdom if God is in our midst as Jesus said. Who is up for that right now?

We / I are too complacent, we think we have all we need through mans skills and knowledge without questioning where those skills and knowledge came from. Take our political leaders as they brag about how WE are mastering the Covid situation and how we will completely defeat it. No mention of our creator God in any way or form. I was recently particularly struck by verses 13 & 14 of Psalm 81: 'If my people would but listen to me, if Israel would follow my ways, how quickly would I subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes'

We must stop praying, "Thy will be be done on earth as it is in heaven" and stop living on earth as it is on earth. We are the only people who can show Hashem's greatness and Love to those who are dead in their sin.
