Luke 18:19 And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone."
Here's how Jesus starts to answer the ruler who has just asked about eternal life. Just pause a moment and hear these words carefully. What is Jesus doing? He is taking the focus of Himself and pointing the questioner back to God. His first words are about God; this is God's decision, God's rules and God's place to answer.
Secondly, let's see how the enemy has stolen these words and devalued them so that no-one knows what they mean any more. Imagine a conversation: "Hi, how are you today?" ... "I'm good." Every been there and done that? No-one is good except God alone. When we causally throw back that "I'm good" response, we do two things: we claim goodness for ourselves and we call Jesus a liar! Say it enough and you and everyone else will start to believe it.
Let's break the enemy's habit and lie in our mouths today.
