Isaiah 40:27

Isaiah 40:27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD, and my right is disregarded by my God"?

Isn't this just the way it is all too easy to think? That God isn't looking at us, particularly right now when we could really do with a bit of attention. So we rationalise; we make excuses for Him; we remind ourselves that He does have a lot of His hands right now - and it certainly true that we are not the most important thing on His to-do list. But that is to see and judge God by our standards, to downsize Him to our capabilities.

We have to stop this and know that He is God. Do you hear that? He is God. His capacity is infinite; He is never too busy; He does care and has promised to hear us when we cry out to Him and never to forsake us. That's why He asked the ancient Israelites why they were wasting time with those silly word games.

"Get with it!, He pokes them, "Stop shrinking Me!"

So let's have no more of that today either!

We tend to think of Hashem as we think of ourselves. We view Him as we view our surroundings. But, our God is not a man. He is The Spirit that holds the entire universe together. We need to see Him with our very soul.
