Isaiah 42:1 Behold My servant, whom I uphold, My chosen, in whom My soul delights; I have put My Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations.
By all standards of orthodoxy, this text refers to Jesus. I do not disagree.
But since we are called to be His servants and are made in the image of God, what the Hebrew Bible nicely calls His 'shadow', how much should it also apply to us? We teach and believe that we are indwelled by the Holy Spirit, but are we trying to bring forth justice to the nations?
