Isaiah 44:24

Isaiah 44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: "I am the LORD, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by Myself ...

This is a classic identity/authority formula: it identifies who is speaking and why they have the authority to speak. God doesn't speak to us because He is clever magician, a master rhetorician or a polymath; he speaks to us because He is the creator of all things, including us! By Himself, without any of our help, He made the whole of creation, the universe and everything.

That kind of puts us in our place, doesn't it. And yet, He desires relationship with us. How do we know? Because (a) He is speaking to us (at all) and (b) He describes Himself as our Redeemer and individual creator!

Paul alluded to this in his writings to the Romans,

Romans 2:14-15 NIV Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.

All glory and honor and praise to Hashem.
