Isaiah 45:20-21

Isaiah 45:20-21 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, you survivors of the nations! They have no knowledge who carry about their wooden idols, and keep on praying to a god that cannot save. Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the LORD? And there is no other god besides Me, a righteous God and a Saviour; there is none besides Me.

God calls the nations of the world to assemble and make their case before Him. If they think they are right, then let them produce the evidence, He says. We can see groups of nations coming together, taking counsel together - but at the moment, these are all against God, they seek ways to further their own ends and to deny His. But there will come a time when the survivors - only those who are left after the disastrous mess that the nations will make of themselves and each other - will assemble together and acknowledge God as the Lord and Master of creation, of heaven and earth, of all that is - seen or unseen. And they will bow their knee before Him.

Come Lord Jesus come. Yes seek every way except His way, even much of the church doing this. How many trying desperately to get 'back to normal' during covid situation to keep, in many places, the failing institution going instead of seeking His will for each place and each community. Following on from yesterday to take the truth into a needy world, a world where to quote Pontius Pilot: 'what is truth?' We desperatly need to follow up and encourage the new ways of doing 'church' that are springing up.
