Luke 21:25

Luke 21:25 And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves

Switching from Isaiah's view of the end times to Jesus' words as recorded by Luke, we find similar ideas and themes - as indeed, we should expect. Mankind has been scanning the heavens and monitoring the earth almost ever since Jesus spoke these words and in nearly two thousand years it hasn't happened yet. Computer software has been written to track the movements of the sun, the planets and various other non-planetary objects (such as comets) to 'see' when these signs might appear. Seismologists and geologists record all earth movements and tremors, every slightest twitch of the tectonic plates together with wind and wave movmenents are plotted and analysed. While astronomical movmements seem reasonably predictable and regular, so that appropriate mathematical formulae cam predict and plot their movements, earth movements are much more difficult to predict with any certainty and are goverened by a completely different mechanism.

Nevertheless, even allowing for better measuring equipment and availability of records, it does seem fairly certain that the incidence of tremors, plate shifts, volcanic activity and other geological events is rising. There are more of them happening today than there were in the past. Perhaps the physical earth is reacting to the imminent proximity of God as He prepares for Jesus to return.

Naturally, you are ready, right?
