Luke 23:25

Luke 23:25 Pilate released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, for whom they asked, but he delivered Jesus over to their will.

What an exchange, we all gasp. How could he do that? He released someone who deserved to die, while someone who was innocent was condemned. What an injustice!

Now read what Paul said about it:

2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake God made Jesus to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

This is what Derek Prince called the "Great Exchange"; each of us and Jesus switched places. Although we deserved to die because of our sin, yet Jesus took our place in death and we were released. Is that an injustice too? It would have been if Jesus hadn't willingly walk this road in order to redeem us from the power of sin and death.
