John 4:21

John 4:21 Jesus said to the woman at the well, "Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.

The worship of God has moved away from places; God can be worshiped in any place or location and at any time. Church buildings are not only not necessary, some say that they shouldn't be used.

Moving on another step, Jesus' words signal a move away from both traditionl places and traditional forms of worship. Believers are not tied to maintaining the past, but must seek God in the present, where He is currently working, and join in with what He is doing there (or even here!). New styles of worship - different order, different music, different words or perhaps none of those things - allow everyone to engage with the Spirit as He moves so that no-one is disenfranchised by ability, background or culture.

This is exciting - are you up for this?
