Mark 12:28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that Jesus answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the most important of all?"
Hang on - aren't we taught that God doesn't take questions? The thing here is that this scribe had been listening closely to Jesus' words and recognised that He answered well. Jesus had the answers; Jesus knew what He was talking about; Jesus taught with authority, balance and poise. So the scribe - who is not credited with being a disciple or a believers in any way - asked a serious question. For that he deserved a serious answer and Jesus heard, gave it and engaged with him. He will with us when we are serious and recognise that He has the answers.
