Luke 11:2 And He said to them, "When you pray, say: "Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come ..." As He starts to teach His disciples about prayer, Jesus tells them something that they won't necessarily have grasped. Have you grasped it? There is a connection between the way we treat God's name and the coming of the kingdom. If we give His name maximum honour, acknowledging Him as holy in everything we save and do - that is what 'hallowing His name' means - then the kingdom of God will be visible and make advances. If, on the contrary, we do not hallow His name, then the kingdom will remain hidden and will not advance. It seems that we have been given the power and privilege of being part of the answer to our own prayer!
