Luke 12:15 And He said to them, "Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
Once again, two things to learn here, this time in inverse order: our lives don't depend on how much stuff we have; it is easy to be envious of other people's stuff but we must resist being so.
This world was already obsessed with stuff - stuff mountains! - but is becoming increasingly more so in these days. Marketing exists to generate a desire for stuff even when there is no desire; and certainly no need! But, as the Bible tells us: we didn't bring any stuff into this world and we certainly can't take any stuff with us when we leave. At best, stuff is an ephemeral phenomenon with which we surround ourselves in this life.
So don't get envious about other people's stuff. You don't need it, can easily do without it and are better off without it. Recognise the blessings of the kingdom that surround you every day and rejoice in what God has given you.
