Isaiah 8:16

Isaiah 8:16 Bind up the testimony; seal the teaching among my disciples.

Isaiah wants to make sure that his testimony, the words that he has spoken on behalf of the Lord and the witness of the Torah are not lost. They are to be preserved both at the time and for the generations to follow. They are to be held and kept safe by his disciples, those who follow him, learn from and with him and share the word of the Lord with others like he does. They alone are trustworthy in a corrupt and unstable society.

And in our day? God has entrusted His witness to His people and to the followers of Jesus. They alone are to be trusted in these parlous times. Like Isaiah's disciples, they too have the responsibility to learn and study together, to keep their testimony clear and available and to share the word of the Lord for this day with others.

Do you?

The buzz word today is 'interpretation'! Do you 'interpret' this the same as I do? If not YOU ARE wrong! When looking at the handbook on how to live life, His Word, should we not be taking it at face value? Yes there is a time for personal interpretation but, in my experience, these should be for when He is using His Word for guidance/teaching in an individual situation. It is my personal view that too much interpretation has led to such a liberal position that much of the Western church finds itself in today.
