Isaiah 36:10 Moreover, is it without the LORD that I have come up against this land to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land and destroy it.
These are the words of Rabshakeh, the servant and general of the king of Assyria who is currently surrounding the walls of Jerusalem. This argument is trotted out with regular monotony by the enemies of God. It holds no more water now than it did then. An enemy of God is an enemy of God (and all His people). The fact that they appear to be in the ascendancy and gaining ground doesn't make their attacks and abbrogations approved or sent by God. Just as Jerusalem was saved, so will God's people be saved, Rabshakeh and his modern counterparts notwithstanding!
