Isaiah 48:1 Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and who came from the waters of Judah, who swear by the name of the LORD and confess the God of Israel, but not in truth or right.
Isn't that shocking. In Isaiah's day there were genuinely kosher Jews, real Jews, who appeared to be doing all the right things, yet were not acting in truth or doing the right thing.
Could it possibly be the case that there are followers of Jesus who are called by His name, swear by Him and openly confess to being believers, yet are not doing so in truth and right? That doesn't make any kind of sense - there would have to be some kind of contradiction in such lives, some flawed understanding or misapprehension.
Just as in Isaiah's day, so the household of faith needs to hear Jesus speaking, clearly and unambiguously, to them, so that these things may be remedied.
Are you listening to what the Holy Spirit is saying in these days?
