Isaiah 57:11

Isaiah 57:11 Whom did you dread and fear, so that you lied, and did not remember Me, did not lay it to heart? Have I not held My peace, even for a long time, and you do not fear Me?

The fact that God sometimes says nothing for a long time doesn't mean that He has gone away or doesn't exist. Look around you and see the multitudes who are living lives of lies or falsehood that they have created around themselves: lies about who they are, about what they like or don't like, about how others must see them. Then ask the question. Of whom are they afraid? Who do they fear or dread? Who are they trying to forget?

But God cannot be forgotten. As Solomon said:

Ecclesiastes 3:11 God has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

All the time we struggle and fight through our lies, as we construct ever deeper webs of deception to support the falsehood we have created and weaved around ourselves, we know - deep inside - that there is an absolute that we can't quite put our finger on, but that makes even us fear our own lies.

It's time to get real and acknowledge that inner voice, to turn and face God and start being the people He has created, called and given us to be.

At the worst time of my life, when I thought Hashem had abandoned me, He still was by my side. His Spirit was watching my every thought and movement. Yet, I "felt alone, abandoned" with God seemingly nowhere to be found.

Praise His Holy Name, His promises remain: Hebrews 13:5 NIV ..."Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
