Ecclesiastes 3:1

Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven ...

One of the more famous verses in the Bible, thanks to the Seekers and Bob Dylan (among other late-comers). We need to undertand this. There is a right time for everything, that right moment when they should be done and said. We've all been in times and places where someone said or did what seemed like the right thing but at the wrong time and it turned out to be an absolute disaster. On another occasion, it would have been spot on, but there and then it completely bombed.

So it is with the big things of life. There is a time for getting married, for having children, for buying a house or starting a business. And there are times when it is not. How can we know the difference? Often, plain common sense can guide us; at other times, other people can offer wisdom and advice. But sometimes, no-one knows and what do you do then? Ask the One who knows all things, whose calendar runs the world and has promised to help:

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

That's all these is to it. Ask God. What's stopping you? Ask today!
