John 4:42 The Samaritan townfolk said to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Saviour of the world."
That's the question for each of us today. Do we know Jesus for ourselves, or we are relying on someone else - perhaps a partner, child or parent, or a workmate who prays for us? We need to move from a second-hand relationship with Jesus to a first-hand, personal, "been there, done that" relationship. Where do you stand?
Jesus had stayed in the Samaritan village for two whole days, sharing with them, teaching them, speaking to them from and about the Scriptures. At the end of that time, the whole village could say that they had stopped believing in Jesus because the woman had told them all about how He spoke to her. They believed in Him for themselves because of what they had heard Him say to them.
What has Jesus said to you? How long has He been waiting. It's time to make a decision and accept His invitation to join the kingdom of God and come under His banner.
What are you waiting for?
