Ecclesiastes 10:12-14a

Ecclesiastes 10:12-14a The words of a wise man's mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him. The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is evil madness. A fool multiplies words.

How many words are there flying around us today? A lot more than make any sense and far more than wisdom. Much of the rhetoric that streams forth from media, politicians and pundits is absolute rubbish and - to a sensible observer - condemn their speakers as being illiterate fools. As the text says, the end of all this foolishness is evil madness. Just look around you and see what is happening! The fool's response? Turn up the volume and say it all over again, several times. They seek to drown wisdom out of the public arena by sheer noice and repetition. Say it enough times and people will start to believe it.
