Proverbs 4:25-27 Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.
Perhaps this can be charicatured in the modern saying MYOB - Mind Your Own Business - but that's not really what this is about. We have to know where we are going in order to get there; we have to have a plan and a direction. No plan, no progress, no life!
When we don't know where we are going, we waste time looking around, looking at what other people are doing and being wildly distracted by what the world is up to, most of which we really don't want to know about or be involved with. We gawk around to left and right, seeking some kind of way forward.
Make sure you know where you are going and then make sure that you get there. Refuse to be distracted; keep your eyes on your path, your route, your instructions and then your path will be straight.
