Proverbs 11:10

Proverbs 11:10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish there are shouts of gladness.

Somehow, I don't know if you have noticed this, but the world seems to work in exactly the opposite direction. It is the wicked who get cheered, those who disregard God's command and spit in His eye whenever possible, that garner the praise and applause of the city. How can this be? Maybe Isaiah can help us ...

Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

It is because the wicked have managed to corrupt society's value system so that what was at one time universally acknowledged as being right and good is now classed as being repressive, bigotted and discriminatory. If you turn switch the labels over that good things are labelled evil, and evil things are labelled good, then the city's behaviour becomes understandable. Although their inner sense of right and wrong makes them profoundly uneasy (as well it shoul), yet most folk will go along with the majority.

That God that, in the end, He will come to judge the earth and will not only put everything back up the right way again, but will punish those who have pervertede the truth and caused everyone eles to stumble.
